April 12-13 Ft Toulouse/Jackson State Historic Site at Wetumpka, Alabama. The event is for French, British, Spanish, and Woodland Indian re-enactors. May 23-25 Ft Stanwix, Rome, NY The 250th anniversary of the building of the fort. Will have a full schedule of military/garrison duties Sat and Sun. Military Ball Sat night. June Note "War in the Wilderness!" Shelby Township, MI Stony Creek Metro Park. The site is not holding a 2008 event. They offer their support and wishes that Ft. Ticonderoga have a superb event and they will not draw from Ft Tie’s event being so close to their annual date. The event will be back June 20-21, 2009. Site has woods, lake, and open field. June 21-22 Ft Loudon, PA Event will commemorate the Forbes Compaign of 1758. Will have speakers and authors on the period, an honorarium for each unit of at least 4 people, and meals and other amenities. June 27-29, 2008 Ft Ticonderoga 250th Battle of Carillon Ft Ticonderoga's Grand Encampment of the F&I War. This site has constructed fortifications and looks to be a large event. Invited units can stay the entire 12-day commemoration from this event to the July 8 event if they wish. August 16-17 Old Bedford Village, Bedford, PA. 250th anniversary of the establishment of Ft Bedford. Same site that did the 250th Braddock’s Defeat. Site is building an earthen field fortigication with spiked logs and cannon embrasures. There will be a rededication of Ft Bedfort (under construction) on the original site Sat eventing and registered participants will receive a commemorative medallion. The site is a village of houses, shops, etc dating from the first settlers to somewhere in the 1800's. All units/reenactors must carry liability insurance.
